Ek was by verskillende museums in Amerika by Guggenheim, was in Europa by Notre Dame en fantastiese plekke in Amsterdam. Kunsuitstallings was altyd ‘n groot liefde van my.

Ek hou daarvan om my te omring deur mooi dinge. Ek hou van liefdevolle, warm mense met ‘n passie vir die lewe en alles wat mooi is. My eerste kunstoekenning was in 1961 by ‘n kinderkunsuitstalling in Suid-Afrika waar ek nasionaal eerste gekom het. Ek het nog nooit voorheen aan kunskompetisies of kunsuitstallings deelgeneem nie. Hierdie is ‘n eerste en ‘n groot een vir my. My liefde vir kuns kom ook van my ouma af en mense met wie ek my omring het. Van my kunswerke hang in Amerika, Holland asook Canada.

Ek hoop julle geniet hierdie uitstaling soos wat ek dit geniet om hierdie skilderye te maak. Dat dit sonskyn vreugde en kleur in jul lewens bring soos vir my!

I’m Kobus van Wyk. A farm boy from the Free State, grew up among the mine dumps. I have discovered a very special love for beautiful things in life since I was a child. Beautiful houses, beautiful gardens, wonderful art. And I always decided as a little boy I would travel the world to look at these experienced wonderful things. I did it. I was at various museums in America at Guggenheim, was in Europe at Notre Dame and fantastic places in Amsterdam. Art exhibitions have always been a great love of mine. I like to be surrounded by beautiful things. I like loving, warm people with a passion for life and all that is beautiful. My first art award was in 1961 at a children’s art exhibition in South Africa where I came first nationally. I have never participated in art competitions or art exhibitions before. This is a first and a big one for me. My love for art also comes from my grandmother and people I surrounded myself with. Some of my artwork hangs in America, Holland as well as Canada.

I hope you enjoy this exhibit as much as I enjoy making these paintings. That it brings sunshine joy and color into your lives like for me!

Lebogang Moabi

My name is Lebogang Ronald Moabi born and raised in Klerksdorp/Jouberton, I am visual artist working in mixed media also familiar with pencil, charcoal, acrylic, oil and wood my main focus is portraits, landscapes, sculpting and abstract.

I love texture in my works to give it the natural raw feel and powerful character, most of my inspiration comes from studying people’s faces, nature, dreams, visions, photo references and day to day local scenes.

I can paint both slow and quick but with attention to detail, my art consist of calm and vibrant colours I see my art as a healer to the nation.

I never had any training in art oh! I was born with art but I’d love to have a short training to expand my creativity.

I’ve exhibited most in upcoming flea market locally and (M.A.C.E.F) Matlosana Arts and Cultural Exchange Festival and only emerging gallery represent my works in Johannesburg (Jo Anke Gallery).

Most of my works sold to private buyers around flea markets and through my Facebook page “Moabi RawRare Interiors”.

I am a very shy person at times, I love to ready and exploring something new, I knew I had a gift of art during my childhood days, I used to make faces with window putty and draw cartoons and at school was also good in art class. I always had a dream to see myself as big artist and now I’m starting to realise my dreams are coming true…”Art is my life I’m stuck in it eternally”…
